Bridal Beauty With Bondi Sands

We all want that beautiful golden sun-kissed look for our Wedding Day, but with the very high UV levels dangering our skin in New Zealand we chatted to the beautiful team from Bondi Sands to help us find the perfect products to help you get that golden glow.

Self-tanning is an effective way to exude a healthy, faux glow all year round, and with a little confidence and a few nifty tips and tricks, even the most unqualified tanners can get in on the action.
Feel your best on your special day with this golden self-tan 101s from renowned tanning brand Bondi Sands.

What’s important to consider when tanning for your big day or special event?
Exfoliating is essential for avoiding a streaky tan as it helps create a smooth base for your tan to stick to. Self-tan prep starts the day before, so make sure you’re giving yourself a good scrub, especially around the knees, elbows and ankles. Self-tan products aren’t all universal in colour, so find what works best for your skin tone – whether it’s a light, medium, dark or ultra-dark product. Remember to stick to the recommended development time frame and use a tanning mitt.

Any top tips to make sure the tan doesn’t rub off on wedding dresses?
Gone are the days of pungent-smelling self- tan! With products on the market like tanning oils and wash off tans that work instantaneously, you can leave the house with a luminous bronze glow that looks and smells au natural, no wash off required. Many tanning formulas are now quick-drying, which means little to no staining on your divine dress.

What are the best ways to make the tan last longer?
Have a gradual tanning moisturiser on hand to top up your tan and keep skin hydrated for prolonged periods. You can also use a liquid bronzer/highlighter to boost your glow (such as Bondi Sands new GLO Lights range).

There are so many amazing products to choose from the Bondi range, how do I choose which one to
use?

No two tanning products are the same. From foams to creams, to oils and sprays, there are so many options available. Find a formula you feel most comfortable using. You can always test a couple of different products out to see how they apply and look on the skin. If you’re new to the game, do some trial and error before the big event. Top tip: foam is often considered the ‘easiest’ as the colour is visible upon application such as Bondi Sands’ Aero innovation.
